What slows order execution down today

Rekeying errors
Every order copied by hand is a chance to buy the wrong line. When you send it and when the bank receives it.
No audit trail
A phone order leaves nothing to show your regulator.
Hours lost
Chasing confirmations eats the afternoon. Every day.
INSIDE WEALTHWIRE

How it works

01
Upload your order sheet
Excel still powers banking.
02
WealthWire validates the instruments and routes your orders via FIX
Straight to your custodian bank.
03
See your orders get filled in the WealthWire blotter then download your executions
Fills flow back automatically.

One workflow, built for the way independent wealth managers actually work. No dashboards to admire, just the screens between an order sheet and a confirmed fill. Tap any screen to see the detail.

01
Today
The morning view: what is open, what is working, what is filled.
02
Upload order sheet
You keep building baskets in Excel. Empty and mid-upload states shown side by side; validation begins before the file finishes.
03
Validate and review
The parsed sheet as an editable grid. Hard errors block routing, soft warnings do not. The distinction is visual and summarised at the top.
04
Confirm and route
The last screen before orders leave the building: counts, notional by side, banks involved, and what this basket does to the monthly bundle.
05
Blotter
Full status model, the wire showing fill progress per row, and one rejection easily visible.
06
Order detail
Detail opens over the blotter. Fills, and a timestamped event trail, including the FIX messages exchanged, rendered so a non-engineer can read them to a compliance officer.

Why now

Regulators expect an auditable order trail. Banks are phasing out manual channels. And FIX — the protocol institutions have run on for decades — was never within reach of smaller firms. Until now.

FAQ

FIX order routing for independent asset managers.

Basics

WealthWire is a browser-based order routing platform for independent asset managers.

You upload your orders as a spreadsheet, WealthWire validates them, routes them electronically to your custodian banks over FIX, and returns the executions in a single, structured workflow.

It replaces the usual patchwork — a phone call to one bank, an Excel or PDF by email to another, manual entry into a third bank's portal — with one screen, one format and one audit trail.

WealthWire does not hold assets, take custody, make investment decisions or execute trades itself. Your custodian banks continue to do all of that.

WealthWire is the wire between you and them.

FIX stands for Financial Information eXchange. It is the messaging standard used throughout the financial industry to send orders and receive executions electronically.

In practical terms, FIX makes order communication:

Structured. An order consists of defined fields such as instrument, side, quantity, order type and account — rather than free text that someone has to interpret.

Acknowledged. The receiving bank confirms whether an order has been received and accepted, or rejects it with a reason.

Two-way. Order status, partial fills, completed fills, cancellations and rejections can come back electronically over the same channel.

FIX has been used by institutional financial markets for decades. Most custodian banks already operate FIX infrastructure for institutional clients.

The problem for smaller independent asset managers is access: building and maintaining individual FIX connections has historically required an IT project and budget that is difficult to justify.

WealthWire removes that barrier.

How it works

At launch, WealthWire supports equities and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) across the major listing venues supported by your custodian.

Supported order types include market and limit orders with standard time-in-force instructions. The exact options available depend on the capabilities of each custodian's FIX connection.

Additional instrument types are on the roadmap. Bonds, mutual funds and structured products each have different conventions and will be added as they are properly supported rather than simply assumed to work.

Until then, orders for unsupported instruments continue through your existing channels.

WealthWire does not need to handle every trade to remove a significant amount of manual work.

You prepare your orders in a spreadsheet and upload the file to WealthWire.

Before anything is sent, WealthWire validates the orders. Checks include:

File and structure: Are all required fields present and correctly formatted?

Instrument: Can the identifier be resolved and is the instrument supported?

Order integrity: Are the side, quantity, order type and other instructions valid?

Duplicate detection: Does the order appear to duplicate one already submitted?

The results are shown against each order before transmission.

Nothing is sent until you have reviewed the orders and explicitly released them. Valid orders can proceed while problematic lines are corrected.

The objective is simple: catch mistakes before they become trades.

Once you release a validated batch, WealthWire converts each order into the appropriate FIX message and sends it through the established connection with the relevant custodian.

If your upload contains orders for several custodians, WealthWire routes them to the appropriate banks. You do not need to create separate workflows for each one.

The custodian then acknowledges each order electronically.

Once an order has been transmitted, WealthWire receives its status back from the custodian via FIX.

You can see whether an order has been:

Acknowledged → Working → Partially filled → Filled → Cancelled / Rejected

Rejections include the information returned by the bank, allowing you to identify the issue and take action.

As executions arrive, WealthWire records details including quantity, price and timestamp. Execution data can then be downloaded in a structured file for reconciliation or import into your PMS.

Every step is timestamped: what was uploaded, what was validated, what was sent, what the bank returned and when.

That gives you a single audit trail across the order lifecycle.

Using WealthWire

WealthWire is designed primarily for independent asset managers, external asset managers and multi-family offices managing client portfolios across one or more custodian banks.

It is particularly useful if:

You work with several custodians, each with a different order process.

Orders currently leave your firm by email, telephone or bank portal.

You regularly place the same investment decision across multiple client accounts.

You have a PMS but no dedicated OMS.

You want a clearer audit trail of how orders were validated, transmitted and executed.

You don't know what happened to your orders until the day after and you need to check via the online banking of each custodian if everything worked.

The fit is weaker if you place very few orders, primarily trade instruments WealthWire does not yet support, or already have established FIX connectivity through an OMS.

WealthWire runs in your browser. There is no trading application to install and no infrastructure for you to operate.

Getting connected involves four steps:

Custodian authorisation: Your custodian enables FIX order flow for your relationship.

Connection and testing: The FIX session is configured and tested before live trading.

Go live: Upload, validate, send and receive.

WealthWire supports you through the onboarding process.

Day to day, the workflow remains deliberately simple:

Create → Upload → Validate → Review → Send → Monitor → Download

If you can produce an order list in Excel today, you can use WealthWire.

Yes.

You can use the WealthWire demo to experience the upload and validation process without establishing a live connection to a custodian.

The demo does not send orders to a bank and is not a live trading environment.

Today, the primary interface is file-based.

WealthWire accepts spreadsheet order uploads and returns execution data in a structured file that can be imported into your PMS.

This means you can close much of the workflow without launching an integration project.

Direct API connectivity for submitting orders and retrieving executions is on the roadmap, together with closer integrations into commonly used PMS platforms.

The important point is that integration is not a prerequisite. The file-based workflow is designed to provide value from day one.

Compliance & Risk

WealthWire is a technology service provider.

It is not a bank, custodian, securities firm or licensed portfolio manager. It does not hold client assets, act as a counterparty, exercise investment discretion or execute trades itself.

Your firm remains the regulated entity. Your obligations to your clients, your investment decisions, your best execution responsibilities and your internal controls remain yours.

No electronic order workflow is risk-free.

The principal risks include:

Input errors. Validation can identify structural, mapping and plausibility problems. It cannot know that a perfectly valid order is not what you intended to trade. Users remain responsible for reviewing orders before transmission.

Instrument coverage. WealthWire currently supports equities and ETFs. Unsupported instruments continue through existing channels.

Execution risk. WealthWire transmits your instruction. The custodian remains responsible for execution, venue selection and execution quality under your arrangement with that institution.

WealthWire is designed to reduce operational risk, not eliminate responsibility.

Because many of the risks in today's order process come from manual handovers.

Email

An order sent by email has to be read, interpreted and often manually entered into another system. That creates transcription risk. Email can also fail silently — an unread message or missed attachment does not automatically tell you that your order has not entered the bank's trading process.

With FIX, the instruction is structured and the bank explicitly acknowledges whether it has been received and accepted.

Telephone

A telephone order depends on two people hearing and interpreting each other correctly, often under time pressure.

A FIX order creates a timestamped electronic record of exactly what was transmitted and what the receiving system returned.

Bank portals

Individual portals may work perfectly well. The problem appears when you have several custodians.

The same investment decision may need to be entered repeatedly into different interfaces, with different fields and workflows. Every re-entry creates another opportunity for error.

WealthWire allows the order to be entered once, validated once and routed to the appropriate custodian.

No.

WealthWire improves the control, consistency and auditability of order transmission.

It does not replace your investment compliance, suitability, best execution, portfolio restriction, four-eyes or other internal controls.

Those controls remain with your firm and, where applicable, your existing PMS, compliance systems and procedures.

The principle behind WealthWire is straightforward:

Keep the systems, relationships and controls you already need. Remove the unnecessary manual work between them.
